Under Armour Select Game Alumni

 

Keeping tabs on the next wave of talent to impact college field hockey? Look no further than the Under Armour Select Game, which produced 11 alumni who participated in the 2022 NCAA Division I tournament.

In total, more than 200 Under Armour Select Game alums have continued on to a collegiate career. The game annually showcases top talent across the country that emerges from College Connection’s three showcases.

Below are five Under Armour Select Game alumni who made notable impacts across college field hockey in 2022.

Christina Calandra, Maryland, SR Goalkeeper

Calandra is a Manchester, MA native and played club for Seacoast Field Hockey prior to attending the University of Maryland. She made 12 starts for Maryland in 2022, helping the Terrapins to the NCAA Division I semifinal. She was especially impactful in the postseason, making a career-high six saves in a Big Ten semifinal win over Northwestern and four saves in Maryland’s double overtime win over Liberty in the first round of the NCAA tournament. She participated in the 2017 Under Armour Select Game.

Aerin Krys, Northwestern, FR Midfielder/Back

Krys was a penalty shootout specialist in her freshman season at Northwestern, scoring in two consecutive shootouts to open the NCAA Tournament, including a win over No. 11 Iowa in the quarterfinals. Overall, the Ridgefield, CT native appeared in 19 games for a Northwestern team that reached the NCAA Division I championship. Krys played in the 2020 Under Armour Select Game.

Lora Clarke, Michigan, JR Midfielder

Clarke was a key leader for the Wolverines as a junior. The Shaker Heights, OH native appeared in 21 games, tallying 11 goals and three assists. Her best stretch of the season came during a five-game scoring streak in which she scored six goals and two assists. She played in the 2020 Under Armour Select Game.

 

Ellie Todd, Wake Forest, FR Goalkeeper

Right away, Todd played a huge role as a freshman goalkeeper for the Demon Deacons. The Boston, MA native played 19 games, making 52 saves. She took home Second-Team All-ACC honors and won ACC defensive player of the week twice. A six-game shutout streak was an incredible highlight of her productive freshman campaign en route to an NCAA tournament appearance. She played in the 2019 Under Armour Select Game.

Greta Hinke, Northwestern, Freshman Midfielder/Back

Hinke saw action in 25 games for Northwestern as a freshman, logging more minutes as the season progressed en route to an appearance in the national championship. The Wisconsin native was a decorated field hockey player in high school and appeared in the 2019 Under Armour Select Game.
